*** Bump Cap. VS Hybrid cap ***

Was thinking of trying 1 of the hybrid caps cap lights , have all was used ol hard bump cap, was wanting to know how people are liking or disliking the newer ball caps with shell liner,
So Let's here the pro's and con's of each,
Thanks for your time.

I like mine but like rob said it can be hot. I kept my soft cap for the hotter months.

Are they comfortable? Do they stay on your head as good as a bump cap?
I have been thinking of trying 1 also.

hybrid cap

They are comfortable, but mine wouldn't stay on my head all that well. Slid off the back when you look up.

I took the light off and mounted it on a bump cap.

I have less trouble out of the hybrid than everyone I hunt with that uses a bump cap. Mine stays on my head just fine.

hybird stays on my head better and is much more comfortable. as for hot, nothing down here is cool, so I haven't noticed a lot of difference.

The Liners are Hot, doesn't matter if it Summer or Winter...!!!

Boss Lights has a Liner with holes drilled in it.......I am sure this will help. Great idea.....!!!

I took the liner or of mine. It was a lot cooler. I ended up going back to the bump cap because I always hit my head.

They are alot more comfortable IMO but they are too hot for me .
I still like helmet better with ALOT of holes drilled in the sides.
Boss did have a new one i saw at Winter Classic i would like to try it out !! It was mesh cap over the hard shell that had the big holes drilled in the top. Im sure this is the same one Triple K is talking about

hybrid

I have both. I like the hybrid. A good hole saw should cool down a liner........

Bump cap vs hybrid

I bought a new lite with the walk lite below the main beam. The hybrid cap threw a shadow about three feet in front of me, also the hybrid fit with little room for adjustment. With the bump cap you can adjust it out to where you can put in a helmet liner to cover your ears when it gets down around twenty degrees outside. I had them mount new lite on a bump cap and am satisfied.

I don't like the hybrid at all. If you have a bigger head (like me) they set up way to hi and they are hot. The ridge line bump cap is a much better option in my opinion.

Hybrids suck period. I've tried about 6different ones. Not for me. The Ridgeline bump cap is the way to go for me

I have had the old style 901 bump cap for years. Sits lower on the head and thats what i like. its finally starting to get some cracks . Ordered some new what i was told were 901's but when i got them in they wasnt the same . The head band wasnt the same. They definitely dont make them like they used to ! I got sick of searching for the old 901 and
I bought a Ridgeline to replace my old 901 when it gives up the ghost everyone says they like em so im gonna try it .

When our customers tell us they want the hybrid ventilated - we take them at their word and saw the entire top out of the liner. This makes a tremendous difference, and maintains the integrity of the liner.

Not sure what way to go ! I guess you like them or you don't . By the looks of everyone's post. Lol if I get 1 and don't like it I guess I can put it on a hard bump cap, I hate to waste the money but guess I have wasted a lot more on worse things. :-P

Doug years ago we drilled them, but that got time consuming. This method really works.

I have the bright eyes reaper light with hybrid cap. best looking hat ive ever had but it doesnt have much size adjustment so for me it doesnt fit like a typical ballcap. I have an average sized head and i wish i could make the cap a tad larger but i cant.

We tried ventilating them. What we learned is no matter what you do they hold heat, don't allow for much adjustment and cause the hat to set shallow on your head. Some guys still love them.
