Alpha is the total package, Trashbreaker is a very good unit and the Pro 70 is as well. To me the Pro 70 is the better value over the trashbreaker. Yes it has a 4 mile range but are you really going to be able to know what a dog is truly doing that far? In most cases no. Garmin will stand behind their products.

I have both the Alpha and the Trashbreaker Pro. As far as just training around the house and such i prefer the Trashbreaker over the Alpha hands down. It is just a lot easier to use for training in my opinion. Not that the Alpha is complicated. The Trashbreaker Pro is just as simple and fast as it gets. I live on what some consider a large piece of land and when i clean my kennels in the evening i let the dogs run and play. They all wear e-collars when let out. I could not reach the dogs if they got about to the middle of my property with my old system which was a Garmin with a advertised range of 1 mile. I live close to the coast in southeast Texas and it is as flat as it gets. My pastures are all open until you get to the back of my property and it is wooded. I was getting about 5 to 6 hundred yards out of my old system in my open flat pastures. The Trashbreaker will reach anywhere on my place. I mainly use the tone to tell them its time to come back. If you do not need that much range the Pro 70 would probably work for you. I posted the question on here when i bought mine between the Trashbreaker Pro and the Pro 70 and several knowledgeable people recommended the Trashbreaker and i am very glad i went with it. It cost a little more, but i feel it is well worth it. Now if you can only get one or the other i would recommend the Alpha no question about it.
