The Annual Iowa Redbone Roundup

Just sharing some photos and vids from a really fun event that we put on last Saturday night. The thought is to get as many Redbones together as possible and just go hide hunting with one another. Thanks to all that showed up and I'm looking to make next year just as fun.

In attendance this year were dogs like:

Nt.Ch South Skunk Shadow
Nt.Ch. Death Row Abby
Gr.Nt.Ch. Crooked River Turkey
Gr.Nt.Ch Mosquito Creek Lick
Gr.Nt.Ch Heads Creek Moonshine
Nt.Ch. Fox Creek Double Rabble
Nt.Ch. Case
Nt.Ch Bad News Brown

and some nice young dogs:

Crooked River Ruby
Sadie owned by Mike Huston
Sweet Georgia Chrome
Sadie owned by Rusty Zook

We had an early round and a late round. Early round resulted in I think 9 coon treed and the late round resulted in 6 coon treed. I hope everyone had a good time.

Abby and Lick on a double

Shine, Lick, Abby and Shadow on the same tree! LOL

And Shadow split with the meat:

I would also like to thank

The Highland Center civic center for opening it's doors.

The family that was having a Thanksgiving celebration for leaving us the leftovers.

All the guys that came up or down to hunt and shoot the bull and have a good time.

I sure had a good time. It was good to see some other redbones in action. There were a lot of laughs and no shortage of insults to go around, especially if you were the one shooting. I think Mike Houston built a rocking chair out of sticks and had taken a nap in it before one particular coon hit the ground. Lol. The best kill dog in the group was Chris Siemens, it's not pretty to watch but he can get it done with his size 12 boot. Poor turkey was a mess after that last battle. Chris, I'll send you a couple of pictures because I can't seem to load anything on photobucket anymore.

Shooter

Jack, we saw the good, the bad and the ugly. LOL That is coonhunting.

Gilchrist got wet in the first round and had to go home. All he had left was a pair of cowboy boots and no socks. Apparently he thought he might melt.

And as the shooter, I took more than my share of BS. Travis, you got your story half right. But Mike didn't build that rocking chair...me and Aaron did while we were waiting for him to get to the tree...I'm sorry Turkey got messed up by that street fighter. You'd think between him and Chris "Kill Dog" Siemens they could have polished that thing off with style.

Apparently you guys must have owned Walker dogs sometime in the past or you would realize you don't have to run to the tree with Redbones to make sure they don't leave.

Mike, that was slow speed. As long time Redbone owners you have to realize that we are just happy that our old country culls make a tree every once and awhile.

My favorite dog of the night was your Sadie dog. When she split 40yds from those other dogs and had the coon and the other three were on the den with all the squalling and noise going on and she didn't even care.
