Have you researched what the right to work law is yourself? Don't believe your union reps as they need you to pay their wage! Do the union BA's and representatives care about you or care about you continuing to pay their wage. Do they have the same benefits that you do or is theirs better, like 2 pensions? I'm not trying to stir the pot, I want to make sure you have all the facts. I am a tradesmen and have worked both union and non but the vast majority union. I look at the union like another form of government. A bunch of folks telling you what you should do and what's best for you but really looking out for themselves. Who has more to lose? I don't worry about it, I know how to work and will do what it takes to provide for my family. Can you say that about all the people you work with and the ones representing the unions?
Hope all goes well, take care.

That is negotiated with a negotiating committee and the employer and both agree before signing a contract. I hear all this talk about less government and they need to stay out of the way but the same people that say that want government to intervene in collective bargaining, and other issues the government has no business being involved in, but folks want to force their religions beliefs on others so they just go ahead and do it. It's a two way street folks if we are gonna be a free country then we need to be free if we aren't then we aren't.

Rob, I was simply showing how your speaking up on behalf of unions as being the better way to engage in the employer/employee relationship is the exact same mindset as someone declaring that abortion is wrong way to handle the parent/child relationship. It is the same philosophy, (one idea is superior to the other), just separate subjects.

As far as ideas on the size and scope of government, government does need to be involved in certain things and also to stay out of certain things. The way to decide those things in America is to read, understand, and follow the Constitution. And yes, laws do force certain beliefs on society as all laws indicate that certain things are right or wrong, acceptable or unacceptable.

Liberty isn't the freedom to do wrong, but the freedom to do right. Anything past that is anarchy.
