40 dogs killed by wolves in 1 month during bear season.

"Experts puzzled."

Apparently they need to hire some new "experts." Introduce large predators where they're going to come in contact with humans and the animals humans keep, and there's a whole bunch of things going to be killed.

Now they will do a bunch of state agency studies trying to figure out what's causing this. It surely can't be the wolves.

Wolves

I read the article and what kind of dumba@# says this.

“I don’t think they care much about their dogs,” Melissa Smith, executive director of Friends of the Wisconsin Wolf,” told the State Journal.

When the Government

who's only true job is to protect the property of it's citizens and it can't seem to do it, then it's time for the citizens to take care of business.

Think of it like this, for every wolf shot you save a lot of taxpayer money in studies trying to figure out what is wrong with the wolf x human interaction.

"Experts"

This must be the same experts that can't figure out why the deer herd is diminishing and why the Elk herd is nearly depleted!!!
If they think there's 900 Wolves I'd bet there's 2-3 times that, if not more. There is a reason why these predators were killed off many years ago!!

what about ?

In Wisconsin the department of natural resources uses money from are licenses to pay anyone who can prove their dog was killed by a wolf while hunting. The owner of a killed dog gets 2,500.00 dollars... Now if you had a hound that you wanted to cull , can you think of a way to get a wolf to kill it for you..NOW THAT HOUND WOULD BE WORTH 2,500.00 DOLLARS... Also this year the license rules were change so if you didn't have a kill permit , you could run your hounds without a license. Therefore there were a lot more hunters than normal... my last thought , the state has to be able to control the wolves... We had a couple hunting and trapping seasons for wolves with good results,, then the anti hunters convinced the feds to shut it down..SOMEONE SHOULD EDUCATE THE ANIMAL RIGHTS PEOPLE.

You would have better luck teaching your dog to fly than changing those animal nuts minds.

The mental giants in Il. that work the DNR. Have turned bear, wolves and cougars loose here. If they want it to look like it did 200 yrs. ago, thry should remove what was not here. Just Saying.

My son had a bear dog killed by wolves July 31 this past summer in the eastern end of Michigan's UP. He went in to find his dog, knew where he was from the garmin, the other dogs had treed the bear, found his dog, was taking the collars off when he looked up one of the wolves was watching him. Son was 800 yards from the truck in really thick swamp, the wolf followed him for 150 yards only 5-10 yards from him the whole time before it finally disappeared. He said it had the most evil looking face he has ever seen on an animal. They had started the bear about 10 miles away. He reported it to the DNR just to have it on record. DNR said they knew of a pack of 10 in that area. Another bear dog was killed in the same vicinity 1-2 weeks ago and the hunter was followed out by wolves. Was fortunate my son didn't panic, he was unarmed because it was training season, will never be unarmed again. I'm afraid it is only a matter till something bad happens to somebody, the wolves have eaten just about everything up there and have no fear of humans.
