When I got home this morning, Larry Platner & his wife, Karen, both notified me that Marty died last night from heart/diabetis situation. Marty was a longtime bluetick hunter/breeder in our area. I'll post visitation/funeral info when available. RIP Marty & enjoy another hunt with Boy. Take care, Ron.

This is Karen. Thank you, Perry for getting the word out. I apologize to anyone that I was not able to reach out to directly. So many of you brought Marty years of joy. His stories were long and many...and I loved every story he would tell. I'm thankful for him taking this girl into the woods and helping me have my own stories to share about coon hunting. Thank you for all that you wonderful people gave my dear husband over the majority of his life.

Marty hasn't been around the coon hunting world for about a year now, as he went blind, lost both his mom and his dad this past year. He had hopes of getting back out, even if it was to just "listen from the truck".

The services will be in Tipton, IA at Frye Funeral Home. 1-2pm is visitation. 2pm is the service. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery close to his mom and dad. A cherished leash will be laid with him.

I love him...always have...and always will. Missing him terribly.

Unfortunately, this is only picture I can find. 2008' BBOA Zone 3 event at Arthur,Wi. He won Best of Show. Don't recall the dog's name though.

Marty was a long time friend. He was hunting and was a proud owner of Mr. Pickles with his wife.
Marty was a past officer of both Zone 3 and also was National Membership Chairman for BBOA.

Marty was a dedicated blueticker that will be greatly missed.

RIP Marty. May your ears and eyes be full of those wonderful blueticks treed in the heavens
