Since I've started hunting redbones...
1. I walk to fewer trees
2. I see more coons
3. I've met some great people
4. I've met some not-so-great people
5. I've learned a man can actually win with a redbone
6. I've learned the demand for a great one is much higher than the supply.
7. I've learned there are 2 associations, of which still confuses me, but does help get a few all red hunts here in the south
8. I've learned a new use for the word "chrome"
9. I've learned how annoying it is that too many people think redbones are only for shows
10. I've learned how much I've missed all this time...
My 9 year old son is mainly to blame for giving redbones a try. I tried to talk him out of it for over a year, but I finally realized how that could be a huge mistake if I wanted him to be infected by this same coon hunting disease I've had for so many years. I have no clue what the future holds, and I never make long term statements I know hold no merit, but for now the three of us are still enjoying the new color of the kennel and have yet to look back.
