believe she is 10 yrs old now.
Red dog with white on all 4 feet and a big white patch on her chest...Nice looking well made hound..
Never really got a chance in the breeding pen....
We had Betsy for awhile in WI. She was a coon tree'er for sure. Direct daughter of Ramblin Red Ace and a single registered female named Henry's Queen. Roger Shabel bought her from Donny Miller after she was already a well known competition dog and bred her to Famous Amos. We later bred her to Timber Jack. The Burning Ben dog was out of Amos x Betsy. He was a good one too. Was stone silent when hunted by himself, and caught more coon on the ground than any dog we had up here. Like Betsy, when he was in a competition hunt he was a first strike dog. Never saw that out of any other dog. Ben produced Billy the Kid. I'd say that is about as close to Betsy as you will find today with frozen semen.
We got a female out of Timber Jack x Betsy that went to Donny Miller and her name was Pinky. She made a good one and I think she ended up at Danny McCleskey's. His Doc dog went back to her. I see Pinky in a few pedigrees still today. When you see dogs like Betsy in a Pedigree you can be sure there is some World Class Competition genes in there. Betsy placed in the top 10 of the World Hunt and maybe a few times. She was the one I was always gunning for when I was hitting the hunts in the early 80s. One tough female to beat. Donny Miller is a World Class Coonhunter.
