mini hounds

growing up i have always had mini dashounds. i have had a few that would tree squirrels and a few that would not.
the one we have now is a female that is fixed but man can she tree. she will tree anything that will climb a tree. day or night. i dont take her hunting she just trees stuff around the house.
my question for yall.
have any of you ever had one that would tree?
if so did you hunt them?
really wish she was not fixed or i would like to bred her to a good fiest.

I've never owned a dashound. I do appreciate the fact that they are one of the longest living dogs. But for hunting squirrels with small dogs, there are several lines of feist that have already been developed that can and will get the job done. There is no need for you to start another line of small hunting dogs and have to go through the culling process. I hope you will support an established breeder by buying one of their puppies. Good luck to you.

I once thought it would be neat if someone developed a treeing beagle. It would be the counterpart to the treeing walker. The beagle is already a rugged little dog with a great nose and prey drive. But it will have to be someone else because I'm too old now.
