Thumbs up Turkey Season 2016

We've got a month and 1/2 to go till the opening morning and the longbeards are already hammering! Trees r budding out, crappie r biting and the turkeys r gobbling! Hope they don't gobble out before April 17 gets here.

Haven't heard any gobbling here yet but a few guys have seen a couple gobblers strutting with hens. Our season opens for youth next weekend and on the 15th of March for the regular season. There will be some gobbling going on but it really dont get good here until around April 1st.
Good luck everybody !

We saw 3 huge flocks on the way to Erie last wk. We have some around here, but way more hunters. I don't like cooking or eating them so I quit hunting them. My husband still goes out, but with all the campers hunting here, he usually gets disgusted and quits. Good luck to everyone that will be hunting them this spring.

I hit a tame turkey with our new Prius last wk. The owner said he didn't have insurance so I turned it into mine. Put a big crack in the bumper and knocked the turning signal loose. We saw a flock of jakes and a couple hens today while checking beaver traps.

I was going this morning but it hailed last night worse I ever seen. So I figured a gobbler with a headache wouldnt gobble and specially with the wind blowing 25mph and if they aint gobbling. I aint killing them. I'll try it tomorrow mornin.

Our season opened today but 36mph wind and high of 53dg saved a lot of turkeys butts.
