Thought my dog was gone

Got up this morning went out to the deck for morning coffee saw my dog was gone so like most I went to check it out yep he was gone looked all morning then again this afternoon moving slowly down the dirt road about 2 miles away from the house then I hear a faint chop I slowed to a stop killed the engine waited another chop boy did I get excited I new it was him head straight to him got to him could tell he was wondering what took me so long he must of had that coon up there all night they both looked worn out just saying if your dog goes missing they probably went hunting with out you

Yes has happened to me before. And the same dog did it to my wife one night when I was out of town for work too.

I've only had that happen one time. My dogs are at my mom and dad's because I live in town. One morning My dad got up and heard Hammer treed on the hill in front of the house. He'd treed one dragging 20' of chain behind him. Hard to say how long he stayed treed, could have been all night.
