Cold Weather don't affect our snakes!

Yesterday morning was the coldest morning we have had in a year. Just below freezing with small amount of ice on top of water bowls. Corey went hunting last night and killed two Cotton Mouths on the way to the tree. He also said the possums were running wild as he saw 4 on one road.

I can't wait for summer!

Mr Bruce, I hate it for you fellers down there and when those exotics like the Death Atter,Mamba,Boom Slang, and all the others that are being turned loose get a good holt you fellers are in trouble down there, they say the Death Atter is there and they think its reproducing in the lower part of the Everglades,1 inch fangs and nothing on the market will stop the bite is what they say.

.

The thing with the Everglades the Government has about run all the people out of there that use to have fun hunting and fishing down there. Nobody left for all those snakes to bother.

Here is a link to a building I use to stop at in the 70's when we went hunting there. All that is gone and the Government don't want anyone on their land. Funny thing is the Government ruined the place 50 years ago with all the man made canals and dikes they put up. This year the water level is so high in the glades all the animals are drowning. http://www.bigcypressswamp.com/stories/MonroeSta.htm

snakes

Nothing like looking down at your feet and seeing a big snake to make you walk in the tree tops.

Is there anything that the government touches that it doesn't screw up?

The only thing I enjoy killing these days is poisonous snakes. I experience no guilt with that.

I just side step them and keep walking. If I cant get a round them I slap them in the head with a leash and keep walking. They have never bothered me. You cant hunt around these rice fields if cotton mouths bother you.

They don't bother me either because I watch out for them and I wear boots with chaps. But they bother the heck out of my dogs. I hate to see one of my dogs, or any dog, suffer a snake bite. If they would leave them alone, I'd leave them alone.

Mr Bruce, That Monroe Station sure has changed over the years and those storms finished it off but may be they can restore it like they said they was going to on the link, but the truth is if our government does it like it does everything else them or someone at state level will end up wasting the most part of all that $495.000 .

moved to Iowa from Arkansas 2 years ago .only seen 2 snakes here in Iowa .look 4 them anyway .after having a eyeball to eyeball encounter with a 5 foot long timber rattler in ark laying in a tree kind of paranoid I reckin. felt better when snake boots came in the mail so I could constantly look in the trees 4 them andl not worry about the ones on the ground as much.lol

You're a strange dude. Lol. I would probably blow up my house if I knew a poisonous snake was in it. Lol. We have snakes here but I don't run across many poisonous ones.

For you guys that are pretty put off by snakes, I wonder how you feel when you release you dog(s) into the woods knowing that they wear no shoes on four feet? One bite from a large snake can kill a small dog. It a form of Russian roulite. It's tough for me to turn mine loose, I'm conflicted about actually. That's the main reason I like killing the bad snakes. Every kill reduces the risk a little bit. And if saber tooth tigers still roamed the woods, I'd kill them too.
