Honestly, UKC would attract a lot more people. A lot better dogs & bigger events. I'd rather have the ability to win an entry fee back rather than a win slip or a trophy or titling a dog. Some of you may feel different, just my opinion. to me, granding a dog out & finishing it is nothing & just a title. I've hunted with GrNt's that would tree on a corn stalk. I think Hunts with $$$ involved would bring out quite a few more people & have events like PKC, you have to qualify & have money won to hunt in something big. Not taking anything away from UKC but it's a great registry.
While I agree with some of what you are saying, UKC is still the most attended registry out there. They would be crazy to change the format that is working for them.
What they have done however was allow people like me that do not enjoy the smaller hunts or their rules, to have a UKC event that I will enjoy, and even changed rules to accommodate what hunters like me were asking for. We can hunt the Slams, try to get into the Grand Masters, support UKC, and not have to deal with a hunt that we do not like.
Others who like to hunt for a title still can, and will continue to do so religiously. UKC has done a good job supplying both with events and kudos to them for it.
