What age start training pup

At what age do you guys start showing your pup a coon or a hide? Do you keep it on the ground and do drags to make them start tracking it for a few days or couple weeks? Or just hang it up and teach them to tree first? Just curious as to how you guys do it and what results you see.

pup

I never do any one of the things you mentioned!! every one has there own way of training!! myself 10 wks old start walking to the timber alone! until they start running and treeing alone! lot of walking!! but the quality you get depends on the amount of time you spend in the woods with them! but I will pic the most natural pups I can! watch when they get around 3-4 mts old! if you have gone thru as many as I have you would know what to look for. BUT I raise my own so it don't cost me a bunch!! Cull out! keep what I think will make it! Dam I have been wrong at times. lol I have 4 here that I have trained not one knows what a drag or cage coon is. just naturals!! got one here 9 mts old 28 jan treed over 100 coon alone! never seen a drag or a cage coon! good luck
