Dog Rescue
I wasn't going to share this post but I really get upset over seeing inappropriate pictures and or inappropriate training comments on here or other social media that give other people the fuel to develop the wrong opinion about our sport. Not condemning anyone's methods but a little common sense could go a long way. Any of the things we put on here the whole world can see. So with that in mind I am going to share a positive story that happened to me this week and hopefully others from outside our sport can see we do care.
Tuesday night I was hunting near a lake which had some steep hills and some rocky terrain. My young hound got deep in the hills near the lake and became treed. When we arrived at the bottom of the hill we could see he was actually on side of a bluff and he had apparently fallen from the top and then caught himself on a ledge. It was straight up and down above him and below him. I tried to find a way too him but it became obvious he was not going to get down on his own. After a quick call to a friend involved with a local fire department they were able to locate a guy who was able to come and repel from the top and rescue him. I never consider myself as someone who gets attached to my hounds but I guess this one called my bluff.
