had a young man tell me you was allow to spot lite out there as long as you don't have anything to use as a weapon i think he is way wrong on that but i may be wrong

i know here in wv you can't even without a gun and im pretty sure in ohio it is probly a hefty fine and maybe jail time just wanting to see if im right or wrong

no, spot lighting is 100% illegal in Ohio. The game warden will give you a ticket if you use your vehicle lights to shine across a field, let alone a spot light! If your out of a vehicle its different.

My question is: why would someone want to spotlight?,,,coon ain't worth a dime around here,,my fur buyer who has been in business for over 50 years,,his son runs it now,,,isn't even opening his doors this year,,

You can spot light coon as long as you are not in a vehicle. You just can't spot light Deer, EVER. Every hide hunter in OH would be in jail if it wasn't allowed.
