I got a dog that will be at the tree with other dogs and will open on track with dogs but he won't tree with them. I can pat the tree and he will bark a few times but that is it. The other night I tied him back and didn't let him get the coon and he went nuts.. Made another turnout he didn't tree with other dog. What else can I do

How old and how many times has it been hunted? One time tying him back may not be good enough, may have to do it several times if it helps at all.

He's 3 and I've hunted him about 6 times I haven't had him long. You think I should keep tying him back til he acts right?

cut him with another young dog and he run around and opened on track but never finished it off

I'd keep tying him back. I don't let my dogs have anything they don't deserve. It seems to create a lazy dog. my dogs better be treeing or trying to tree there own when I walk in. If they're milling around they'll get the boot, dogs need to learn to back that dog up or get there own.
