Handlers and UKC hunts

What is the % of UKC cast members, judges, and MOH that actually know the night hunt rules? My guess it would be about 50%.
I base this from serving as MOH, and also listening to people talking about the cast they were on in the club house. I don't go to many hunts away for my area anymore but do hunt local hunts, so maybe it's a local problem.

Rules

I would say most know the general rules, its the meaning of the rules is what I think is abused.

I think about 50% know the rules and the other 50% try to interpret the rules to their advantage.

I think the percentage that know the rules (AND) UKCs interpretation of how to apply them is very very low. Of all the hundreds of small clubs out there if they each have one member that really knows his stuff they are lucky. Every MOHs should atleast be required to have a copy of the advisor.

Everyone can get mad at me again

I've said this over and over on here. The rules are to complicated and it has led to less people goin to hunts.

The board has been kind of bland till the last week so thought it would be interesting to keep it lively for a while. LOL!

Most of the rules are common sence. If a dog does something bad it gets minus points. Leaves a tree, checks in after striking, trees a possum. Even pleasure hunters can tell you those aren't good things. I've seen several guys on here that ask the easiest questions about a scoring situation and then they say they're a moh. I get rusty with the rules if I don't hit the hunts regular but I always tell my cast if they have any issues with a scoring situation we can talk about it. I don't like to judge, it's a lot easier not having to but if a club asks me then I believe I owe it to them. The most important thing in judging is be honest.
