you might check their web sites and maybe get a transfer to other locations. sometimes that can be arranged with the unions involved.
1 1/2 years is not enough seniority to worry about giving up, but if you had 20 or so it could be a problem.. once you are on the RR you stand a good chance of a craft transfer.
in the last 6-8 years there has been a lot of retirements that created vacancies with the RR.
I can say without any question, the retirement benefits from the Railroads is hard to beat.--
