most days im out the door by 6:30 at latest but today had nothing pressing till after 8, one of the few days could sleep in and i was sleeping hard. plumb wore out from working and hunting bout every night. dont recall telling bill i was gonna almost get a normal persons night sleep but he must have known and phone goes off at 7:30. rest of the day went downhill from there. LOL.

horrible busy hot humid day but got to work the dogs little in afternoon and hunt hard tonight. had .45 rain early in the morning ruining plans to windrow all day but got machine out in afternoon for end rows. seen lotta deer in distance and was running turkeys out of alfalfa when couple hundred yards away seen critter come out and thought was sure a coon. got ends done and met mike at my house and grabbed old dogs and sky retard bout 1 1/2 hour later. driving in got strike on down wind side where seen critter and thought sure thing dogs would get it treed. dogs were getting little scent but couldnt move it, after few minutes told mike this is sad couple years ago or less would be hearing dogs treed not within sight grubbing. it was heat of afternoon and over 80 so loaded em and dumped in water for quick swim. LOL. drove around for awhile looking at deer and the new crop is unreal. seen bunch of bucks growing horns.

got some good hunting in at dark. treed 6 times with 4 singles seen. bugs and mosquitoes were border line unbearable all night and 2 trees never found anything didnt get eyes with color and tough trees to check so gave up easy and moved on. bugs worst ive seen this year and worst i can remember in awhile. between the hot, humid, and bugs i remembered why shouldnt cuss wind all the time!!! was so sweated up can guarantee the new quatro froglegs are just as water proof from inside as outside. LOL. little sky dog knows less than nothing yet but gets after it making every race and terrorized her all night again tying way back, left her on last tree of night and she was liking it. dogs put ton of miles on tonight and old girls taking the warmer hunting fine. gonna let sky take break and think about it and hunt her littermate tomorrow night and probably the next week or so.

horrible hot, humid, and bugs were in fine form again tonight. cloudy so very dark and critters were moving. hunted close to home and saw a couple skunks and got couple rigs where couldnt turn out, deer everywhere as well. game was active all day saw 3 yotes and bunch of deer late morning while windrowing. almost took .22-250 in tractor today and of course didnt, for sure 2 yotes would have been easy standing shots and probably could of got 3rd. ugh!!! hate when miss out on shots at easy ones like these. wanted to take everest pup out with old girls tonight but mama fed her before dark so took sky like have been. took everest last night by herself for woods exploration time, she knows less than nothing. LOL. glad i took sky though she did good gotta lot of try just young and dumb. had one hole bayup and 3 singles and about 300 bug bites. fun night!

started with good track to hole, dogs were in deep and sky got a little up close and personal time with mr ringtail. thankfully dogs called out easy.


single, sweet spot must of been dead hanger coming off tree.



best race of night and really got pup cranking. crossed winding creek few times and was good 1/2 mile from strike to tree. the way track was sounding and kept crossing water i thought for sure dogs would catch it, but glad it treed.
