One night 43 coon and a catfish

No we didn't tree 43 but that's how many we headlighted in about a six mile stretch of river.we've been flooded out of our good hunting spots for about three weeks . We've been hunting out of a boat fishing til just after dark then headlighting coon on the shore and cutting loose the pups on them .we've just been estimating the numbers about 20-30 a night.last night I said lets count and we saw 43. It was not our best night.excellent way to get pups going and get some fishing in at the same time. One catfish yesterday but we've been catching quite a few of those except last two nights.we only turned loose four times last night but pups treed 4 easy coon .that's a good night in my book

This wouldn't be a fair representation of Arkansas coon population. Most of this area you could only access by boat so very little hunting pressure. Also a lot of straight up and down bluffs along shore so unfit to turn loose on. In our " good " hunting spots if you look at three a night you had a pretty good hunt.
