JMO but that would be a disaster. I hunt in places that it will take 30-45 minutes just to get back to the truck, and that is when the water is down as it is now. Throw in some of those very thickly covered briar patches and an hour is not near long enough, but I do agree you can't wait any longer.
From my MOH experiences, the problem is not the hour rule, but how far the clubs allow casts to travel to hunt, because of buddy arrangements, and the cast themselves. I have seen cast sit at the club house for 2 hours after drawing out before leaving on their 30 minute ride to the woods to hunt. They are killing themselves....not the rule.
The deep going dog can't cost the whole cast a chance to make it back. Use the rule, set the place to meet, wait the hour, and if not back, scratch the dog and continue on your merry way. Only real problem there is it might be the guides dog, and then you may run into a having to go back to get another guide, and in this day and time of hunting, there may not be one available.
