for starters when you start taking him into the woods you better get him some tick prevention. There's some threads on here right now on the subject. Myself I've used Seargents for the past couple years with good results but just last week I had my buddy put cow tags on all my dog's collars. This is the 1st time I've tried it so I can't say how well they work but everybody I've talked to that use them say they work real well. just make sure you do get something on him though, those ticks are a real problem the last few years.
I've never used the cow tag either, untill a couple of weeks ago,,got tired of the ticks on them,,and I gotta say,,they work,,haven't found any on them since,,I'm getting tired of them on me too,,so I'm gonna take one of those tags and zip tie it to the back of my summer vest,,hoping that will keep the ticks off me too,,,gotta do something,,,they're terrible this year already
