Southern Mississippi coonhunters

What is the hunting like ? How many coons ? Are there certain areas gators hang out and you just know to stay away from it ? Also I heard once the temp gets below 60 degrees gators become dormant and you don't have to worry about them in the winter time they hibernate ? Also how long is your coon season ? Thanks for any info, I really appreciate it !!!

south ms coon hunting

Coon are very thick and so are the woods. Should worry more about cotton mouths than gators. July 1 is the date when you can shoot out 1 per night.

We have such warm winters down here, you can see gators any month of the year. They can be bad on a dog, but not much to worry about for hunters.

This time of the year nobody runs the swamps much.Gators are bad news on the dogs.If you run in the hills though you won't have much to worry about.
