Range of dc40

I was just wondering what kind of range does a dc40 collar have using the astro 220

You can expect about a mile give or take a little. We tested one the other night by hanging it in a tree in my yard. It picked up. 1.4 miles (that's more than I usually get ) with standard antenna on receiver. Then we switched to after market antenna on a coax and picked up 3.7

I disagree. I've used both and have always gotten better results with my DC40's. I've got long range antenna's on everything and consistently get about 1-1.5 miles, that's with a Astro 320. I also have DC50's and get about the same. I live in flat, to rolling farm country with scattered trees. IMO you cannt go wrong with the DC40's.

Your absolutely right. These guys that think a DC-30 gets better range than a 40 either haven't actually used a 40 and a 30 at the same time or there was something wrong with they're 40. I hunt fairly hilly country so sometimes I do loose my 40s at 1100 yrds but anytime there is another dog with a 30 the 30 will poop out At 900 or LESS.
