Puppy Buying?

What age do most of y'all like when it comes to buying a pup?

Anymore, I'd just rather give more$$$ for one that is ready to start.

And how important is the pedigree to y'all???

I'm probably a little funny about it but I want a pup as young as possible. 7-8 weeks old makes me happy. I don't want somebody elses reject and I just want whatever's being imprinted on my pup to come from me.

I'm the same way. I like a pup under 10 weeks. Pedigree is very important. This past summer word got out I was looking for a bluetick. Three men called to tell me they had a bluetick to sell. I told them I don't want a dog just because it's blue. I got one from Gary Uchtman out of his Jobe dog. She 8 months old and I'm very well pleased with her.

I always liked I get them no younger than like 4 months old and no older than 9 months. But when you see a litter being born that you have your eye on, you have to get what you want when you can. I just hate dealing with puppies.

The older they are the more the chances of some genius ruining the pup. A good pedigree might help sell dogs and unless you know the puppies parents the pedigree is all you have. I don't ever expect a pedigree full of famous dogs to cause the pups to be any better...it would be nice but it seems like what you get is what you get.

I would also add that the bloodlines are very important to me.

I like to get a pup around 3-4 months old, work them with a hide and have them in the woods at 6 months old.

pedigree- it don't make the dog any better in the woods but they are nice to look at. They can give you an idea what kind of dog to expect if you know what the dogs in the pedigree are like.

I like to get my pup at no older than three months old.

I like a good looking pup full blanket back with a good broad head.
Don't cost no more to feed a good looking dog than an ugly one.

How it is bred means ever thing if you know the bloodlines or have owned that bloodlne before it takes a lot of worry out of your mind.

I hunt females and i don't want one with a nose that can drink out of a pop bottle of course its hard to tell that on a young pup.

Mouth is one of if not the most important thing i want on any dog i own i will not keep or hunt a world champion if it don't have a good mouth on it.

One exception to my rule is Clover dogs don't care what they look like if they are from the right blood lines which few people still have today.
