Getting Screwed

I have competition coon hunted for nearly 30 years. I have seen lots of things happen the hunts. I have seen good dogs, bad dogs, good handlers, bad handlers, mean dogs, mean handlers, handlers who got screwed, handlers that screwed. Last night was the first time that I had a male dog to get screwed (literally) on a hunt. All dogs were struck in and my dog came back to me, which is very unusual for this dog. He got his minus. Then another dog comes by and takes minus. Ok, something's not right here. My dog comes back again and the other male dog is riding him. He gets scratched and put on the leash. My dog takes off and gets back on the track. Then the other handler says "are you sure your dog is not in heat". SMH.

funny you should mention that! but if you listen to these guys every time they have a male dog and it starts smelling around a female or trying to ride it that is a favorite saying. your dog coming in heat. not saying some aren't . jmo

LOL!!! Mike, if he has pups, you can sure get one, but they're gonna be high.
Bisexual...I wonder if they are born that way or it is just something they learn.

Had a dog that would do that to the other male in the pen. He got a disease and got real skinny and eventually died. We joked he had aids

I took a female that I felt was out of heat to a RQE one night and drew 3 males. 1 went hunting and the other 2 locked onto my female and chased her around the truck-quickest $30 I ever blew in a hunt! Anyway the dog that went hunting got treed, then one of the dogs chasing my female went to him and treed for a bit, then shut up. When we got to the tree, the dog that went hunting and got treed was up on a tree treeing his heart out and paying no attention to the other dog who had his front legs wrapped around him humping him for all he was worth-one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a hunt. The dog treed sure was good natured!

My hounds (all male) run loose in a fenced yard at home. They are always humping each other in play. Its a form of dominance. I don't interfere. When the more dominant one lets the less dominant one hump him, it is a sign of trust. Doesn't go on for long.
When I lived in the city, I would take my boys to the dog run for exercise. One of mine thought it was funny to hump any Labrador with a ball in its mouth. He knew no Labrador would drop a ball to snap at him. He could be quite persistent about it. Some of the Lab owners were very upset by it.
Never seen anything but a pup try to do that in the woods, though. He tries that with the wrong dog and he will be shredded.
