If mn ever got the opertunity to hold it there would probly be some MN dogs attending each year!

MN has just as much opportunity as anyone else to host it! The Zone 3 championship is on a 3 year rotation, but when NOONE from MN is in attendance or puts in a bid to host it we have no other choice than to skip ahead in the rotation and get to planning the next year. This year was suppose to be MN's year, we had numerous things posted on here asking for bids from Mn, Noone submitted any and the deadline to have them submitted is the meeting at the Zone hunt. Noone from MN was in attendance at all and no officers had received a bid from any clubs in MN. At this time we then proceeded to open it to WI bids and then gave WI till Autumn Oaks to have bids in since it was not suppose to be WI's year so Noone had discussed it from WI clubs. I put a bid in for the highland club myself as a board member of the club and the vice chairman of bboa zone 3 and that was the only bid to ever be submitted so that bid was the winner. We cannot just leave it undecided and not knowing wuts going on till January when MN gets around to thinking about wether they want to or not. Myself I would love to see MN host it again. The last time it was in Preston I had good hunting and a lot of fun. According to rotation it is MN turn again for the 2017 zone hunt, which means having bids READY and submitted by or at the 2016 zone hunt in Iowa somewhere. So that means Mn has a year and a half to get a bid together! Happy planning, we will be more that happy to take your bid and help in any way we can to get it up there in 2017!

Not putting blame on any club...hard to be part of a rotation that were never givin the opertunity..last years Exuse was we didn't have a ports potty..I guess indoor plumbing isn't allowed..I find it hard to attend meetings and suport something that won't do the same...good luck with this hunt!

We are starting to make plans for the zone 3 championship in the past the hunt rotated between the states .Minnesota has not held the hunt in several years, So we are looking to the Minnesota clubs to see if they are interested in holding the event. If your club is interested contact Robbie Brooks (414) 308-3037 OR P.M. me the deadline is Feb1 IF no clubs contact me by the Feb.1 the zone hunt will go to Iowa .If your Iowa club is wanting to hold the event let me know . The board will make it's decision at the winter meeting.

Its being braught up at a mtg Thurs and info will be sent in!

I was Zone Chairman for a few years before Robbie. The Chairman's responsible for selecting a hunt site and approved through the board. I know why I was chairman every year it was offered to MN but no one was ever in attendance, nor did any club ever put in a bid. The goal and objective for the Zone hunt is and has always been to keep the Championship as near the other states as possible. So being said to be looking at SE MN, NE IA or SW WI. Each state is offered a State Championship.

There is positively NO way anyone is trying to keep this hunt from being in MN. You absolutely have some of the best members and bluetick supporters in the country.

I have no idea what you are talking about about a porta potty, but I would like to know if you would call me or send me a PM. 641-680-0117

I will say if a club wants to hold it they just need to have a good place, kitchen, preferably camping and/or motels and enough guides to put hunters into good coon population within a short driving distance from the club.

I would like to set the record straight, the answer isn't moving to Iowa,or Wisconsin. It bothers me that some of the Minn.members think we are leaving them out of holding the Zone 3 hunt. We didn't have this problem back when we had Minnesota Zone 3 members that wanted to get involved in the Zone. I remember in 1979 our Chairman, Vice Chairman and long time Executive Committee member Jim Rosenwald were involved from Minn.. Clubs had BBOA Members that wanted to hold the hunt when it was Minn. turn. Now we don't see anyone from Minn. at the Zone 3 Hunt and then want to throw rocks at the members that are trying to get things done, after the fact. The bottom line is get involved in the Zone 3 and become united. Thank You, Joel Appel Zone 3 Executive Committee member.

I use to go to the zone 3 hunt we even heald a mn bboa state hunt..I enjoy the zone 3 hunt and have been to several..it has nothing to do with not participating!

All it comes down to is this.....the year before it is Minnesota's turn in the roatation, a Minn. member/club that wants to hold the hunt can either come to the Zone meeting or simply pick up the phone and call a Zone officer and say you want the hunt. That has not happened in a long time, but when the officers move forward to hold events then the complaining starts every year.

FYI...it's been well known mn has been wanting to hold it...in fact we were told hold the state hunt instead...how many officers do you sopose were there? How many wis or iowa members were there? I believe there was 2 iowa member and it was heald on the iowa border and real close to wis....I love the BBOA. But hate the political BS! I do know for a FACT there's officers that do not want it hear..that's all good..I prefer not hunting in wis seems I allways have to climb mountains but I don't get in the way of them holding it!

I am working with UKC to make BBOA dates so no matter which state the hunts are held the dates will stay the same. The dates would belong to BBOA so the clubs would not have to give up any of their dates to hold the event.
