Thanks guys just got home-thats a long haul! Punkin put on a show down there by getting alone with a coon twice Friday night, one of which she treed while the cast was shining a slick tree with the other 3 dogs treed on. She got alone with a coon twice Saturday night too and would have had another 375+ CW but the second coon was in a pine. I drew a great bunch of guys that tried hard to find him and at 9:30 gone in shine time he peaked at one of them. About a minute after shine time expired we were all able to make him out bulked up in the top of the pine. It was a tough break, leaving her score at 175+ and another guy with 225+ on a coon his dog treed. The CW shook my hand and told me he just wanted me to know though the score card didn't reflect it my dog beat his fair and square-I thought that was great sportsmanship and overall a great weekend!

Why we don't go foward as a breed!!

Guy's the thread that you just chose to click on is the answer!!414 replies with very liitle congrats to a guy that's more than deserving of good wishes, congrats and luck and is dedicated to this breed! I ask you,why would one want to represent the breed for us all too look at and take notice and spend his time, hard work and money to get this reply on a public forum that represents the breed itself as a whole with this outcome! You tell me!!!Sad,very sad!! I have the oppurtunity once again to promote a very well known blue hound in the country that the man himself, that owns him knows in his own mind with the right hound ,I will and can go to the top with it and then some if the hound has what it takes to get there.!!Lots of time, dedication and money spent to get there along with time away from home and family! When I look at this thread, one might as well stay home and watch tv or spend some great time with the grandkids! You want a reason why blues can't get to the top,you just read it! Posted by yours truly, me!!!Now one might disagree with me but it's in type and just my own thoughts!! Like it or leave it!! JMO!!!! Danny G.

It's ok Danny, through 3 different threads on the UKC board and well over a hundred likes and comments on face book we've got plenty of congrats. We don't do this stuff for a pat on the back anyway, I'm just a guy dedicated to the breed trying to keep it alive (and I do believe its dieing), that's been lucky enough to come up with a few that can compete at the national level. I'm nothing special in the training or handling departments, but feel I have a descent grasp of what one needs to be in order to compete with the big boys and if I have one on that level I'll keep it in the woods on a semi regular basis and I'm not afraid to spend some of my paycheck taking it to town. I'm not big on bragging on my dogs and really am not a want to be in the spotlight person, but I will tell you if this little hound continues to perform and improve the way she has as of late her little mugshot showing up in the winners circle is just beginning!

Punkin

Congratulations Mr. Shepard on a great job at the grand American !!!
You promote and represent the Bluetick to the fullest we need more like you .
A lot of people young and old could learn from you and Mr. Glista
The problem is some no everything and can't listen to others and take what works for them and discard what doesn't !!! If a person can't say something nice about another than they shouldn't say a thing .The Punkin female is off Danny's female if I seen correctly Rance that gives him every right to say what ever he wants related to Bluetick coonhounds .And as for as pushing a dog in the hunts better do some research hoss what about Jet 8 the purina race. But I don't have to defend him his record speaks for itself !!! And for a young fella just starting out his pup training thread is great !!! Everybody does not have the same out look on things as others the one thing we all have in common are these hounds !!And all of us want one thing for ole Blue to be on top come the end of September !!! My number is at the bottom if anyone feels they need to discuss this more !

congrads to Mike and Punkin on your win. Also congrads to Mike and Piezon to Danny and all of his females as of lately that has been repoducing some nice off spring. I do not know these two men. Have talk to both of them over a year ago. Seems like nice men to me. Danny thank you for posting your step by step training prosess of pups i know you spend a lot of time with them and a LOT of time on computer to try to help others. For all you new comers read his post on training go back and read again and maybe give Mike and Danny a call i think they would be more than glad to help. Hope you both have a good year in 2015. And remember put Christ first.

THIS is the way to promote a hound. No need to blow and brag. Let your hound do the talking for you. Nice job and Congratulations Mr Sheppard!
