DC 30 question

I got 2 DC 30's that don't charge all the way. I leave em on charge till the light goes out, but on the hand held it only shows 1 bar for that collar. Has anyone had this problem before, or what do ya think may be wrong?

It is very probable the battery needs replaced, but, try this first.

One time I ran my DC30 way down lower than I normally would. I charged it until the light went off and only had 2 bars showing. It took connecting, running until the light went off and reconnecting repeating the process abut 3-4 times before it ever went to showing full again.
It has played normal ever since.

Yes sir, I had one to do the same exact thing. Everyone screamed it was the battery needed replaced. Here is what I was told to try by garmin tech support and I'm still running the same battery over a year later. Take the dc30 apart and disconnect the battery leave the battery unhooked for 30 minutes this allows the collar to reset. After 30 minutes hook the battery back up and put collar back together and try to charge the collar again if it recharges you are good to go. if the collar does the same as before and does not charge replace the battery.

Have you tried this yet before tearing into the collar?

I started a post with the same problem.I had not seen this post.
I have done all the usual suggested methods to try to fix the problem.Including a new battery.
The collar continues to short charge even with the new battery.
A couple guys suggested the new battery would eventually start taking a full charge after a while.
So far it is still not fully charging.I have probably charged it 10-12 times now.

The way I am "BEATING IT" is I turn the collar on for about 1/2 hour after the blue charging light goes off. ... Then I try charging again and it has been finishing the charge.
So far this is the only thing working for me.

X2.. I had 4 30's with exact same problem. After disconnecting batteries in them for 15 minutes they have all charged and worked flawlessly. I did try charging repeatedly before disassembling. Just make sure the housing is water tight. Good way to do that is tiny bead of silicone.
