Dog food recommendations????

Just curious what everyone is feeding and what they like or don't like. I used to always feed black gold but its not available around here anymore so I've been feeding Diamond. I was kicking around the idea of switching to Purina Pro Plan but not sure if its worth the extra money? I pay around $25 for Diamond (50lbs) and the pro plan is around $39 (37.5 lbs).

Thoughts???

4 health

I was feeding diamond naturals but I switched to 4health beef and potatoe grain free. It's made for tractor supply co. It's 28% protein, 15% fat. It's pricey but I'll tell ya what I've seen a HUGE difference in my dogs energy and their coats. Mainly energy though. I'm only feeding 2 dogs with it so it's worth the extra money. If I wasn't hunting them hard I sure wouldn't b feeding it. Price is about $1 a pound

I have fed about every feed under the sun over the last 30 yrs. Sportmix and diamond I will never feed again, you feed these 2 long enough you will loose a hound because of poor ingredients used in feed some where down the line and there won't be a recall either.
If you are looking foe a economical feed that is consistent then I would feed Purina Dog Chow. 50lbs. at walmart for around $22. I fed it all last winter thru the cold and dogs stayed healthy and looked good. You will have more waste and the dye in it I think it looks like crap. The dogs did fine and I was totally impressed even with the low protein and fat content. I would feed OlRoy high performance before I would EVER feed sportmix or Diamond again.

Fed a bunch of different feeds. Best feed I ever used was Puina High Pro. Tried the high dollar stuff after they quit HiPro. My Dad has raised, trained, and worked dogs for over 60 years. He made fun of each new feed I would try. Finely took his advice and went straight Purina Dog Chow. Get it from Sam 22 bucks for a 55 lb bag. Dogs have done very well.If they start to hunt down, I supplement with oil. butter, or scape.

Weight circles pay off well also. My Dad just sent in for 49 checks at 7 dollars each.
