What Color for Registration?

I'm undecided about what COLOR to put on this pup's registration papers.

Opinions: Is he Tan/Brindle, Yellow/Brindle or something else?

Thanks...

Thanks for the kind words, Watch and Cory!

Watch, he was the only Yellow/Brindle in the litter. (If a high percentage make good coon dogs and there is enough interest, I may make the cross again, but that's not in the near future - I want to make sure this cross is Worthy before even considering that - I am not in this for the money)

I'm hearing real good (early) reports on several of the pups whose owners I got in contact with. It's still Way Too Early to tell if they'll make coon dogs, but I like what I'm hearing so far.

Some things I've heard:

All the people Like them.
The #1 thing I hear is: They are intelligent with "lots of sense"
A couple guys said they have good "Winding" instincts
They are Loud
They are Big dogs.
One that has been running loose is trailing squirrels and getting up on trees.
One learned to load in "2 minutes"
One man said he is "more excited about his two pups from what he's seen so far than he has been in 40 years of hunting hounds. (Said he has owned all 6 breeds.)

Mine, TJ, went hunting from day one - no standing around. He's been trailing a lot on the ground and walking logs and trying to track
His daddy, Tarzan ran a boar 9/10ths of a mile a couple weeks ago and TJ stayed with him the whole time and was at the tree when I got there. (He wasn't treeing, but I think that might come soon - fingers crossed)

Here is TJ at 5 months old.

I have a male out of this litter and he is the one that learned to load in 2 minutes. I have raised 8 plott pups in my days. He is easily the most pleasant pup I have every raised to date. Very personable, doesn't chew anything is isn't allowed to, doesn't bark, very responsive to positive and negative feedback and just plain likes to be around me.

We are just kinda feeling out the woods now, but he sure doesn't make it miserable to take him out. Like was said earlier, he is a big dog but carries it well. We shall see what the spring brings for his coon treeing ability!

Thanks for the good report, Ron!

And thank you, also, Terry.

Rather than post just his ped, I'll point to my humble website where you can see a pic of TJ's sire, Tarzan, and the dam, Sally.

The other good dogs are owned by my hunting buddy, Dale Grant and his grandson, Zack Grant (Zack owns Ruby; Dale the other two).

You can click on the peds on each dog's picture to see how they're bred.

(You will notice that Cowboy Up, formerly raised and owned by Scott Rosson and then the late Bill Reddick is the sire of the older dogs - early, hard-treeing genes. Craig Grawe of Keyesport, IL now owns Cowboy.)

Thanks for looking! - Dennis
