burn time on high?

question for light builders? do you test your lights on high non stop to see if burn time is what advertised???

ive noticed on bunch of hunts since had sunfire ultra that it doesnt get near as hot as other lights ive had when burning on high a long time.

thanks, matt.

.

I can tell you that I personally check burn times and I can tell you to the minute when they should go out.

I will just share HIGH with you here.

Our new HotSpot will burn 3 1/2 hours on high and then start to dim down and take about 30 minutes to be completely dead.

Our 12v Boss lights will get 4 hours on high and then turn off.

Matt I have tested them by running them all the way down. The ultra is rated at 2.5 hours. It burned for 3.25 hours and then dropped to dim. It burned dim for 45 minutes and then went out. I'll let you in on a secret. Everything Sunspot puts out from our brightness to our burn times are underrated. There is a reason for this.

Take the burn time. If I tell you it will burn 3.25 hours and you get one that for some reason is pushing a few more mili amps and only burns 2.5 then guess what will be all over the internet tomorrow.

Also the brightness of the HD many of them are 125,000 lux some are 120,000 lux a few of them are 100,000 lux. so I advertise them at 100,000. I decided when I started advertising the brightness of our lights that I would ere on the conservative side of all my lights. I could have took the brightest longest burning one I had and advertised all of them as being that but it isnt how I do business.

thanks bruce and michael. i dont have any problem with ultra and never had trouble with other lights in the woods. like i said noticed some got hot, while trying to find coon in horrible trees. i dont burn lights on high just walking or messing around but i get borderline fanatical bout finding coon, hate walking away not seeing it.

i know first hand of several lights being tested on high and either melted down or got so hot were shut down or would have. LOL. those were neither of your guys lights. LOL.
