dc-30
My buddy has a dc-30 that just got back from Garmin because when you plugged it in the red and blue light came on and when u unplugged it it would do nothing. it still does the same thing. any ideas?

with it in the charger flashing red blue hold the on button in. it should go solid red when you unplug it from the charger . when it does, then follow this video and reset with a 320. a lot of them do the red blue light deal after the battery has been unplugged and plugged back in. http://youtu.be/HH7nsgXHQ_w

they did have it where you could have yours repaired or choose the trade in and 89 bucks for a refurbished dc 30.
I don't think they offer any refurbished or repairs any longer on the 30. they released all their refurbished collars for sale to their dealers with no trade in awhile back from what I was told. but I don't know for sure on it.

I Have a buddy that his completely quit working because it had never been updated. We updated it and it fixed it and work perfect now. I have updated all my collars a dc 30, dc 40, and 2 dc 50's many times and never had any issues other than one time. I updated a 30 and 40 both collars would take forever to pickup on the 320. I updated the collars again and it fixed both of them and haven't had anymore issues. I know they are no longer making anymore dc40's and I not for sure about the whole dc 30 deal. But If you have ever used the dc50 you would see why they are pushing it. It flat out performs any other collar Garmin has released. If you like the 30 you will love the 50 its basically a 30 on steroids....It picks up much better.

Thanks for the help. I know this was his collar that he got back becauce it had the engraving in it that we put on there. after a call to garmin they are going to fix it again. As far as the dc-50's we have 6 between us and 10 dc-40's and alot of dc-30's. it has been out experience that the dc-30 are the superior collars. we loose the 50's after 5-600 yards. But that is in the heavily wooded bottoms in east texas. they are all updated and it makes no difference. I have heard tons of good about the 50 and have now doubt they are great collars, but for some reason in the terrain here with 100 foot tall oak trees and somewhat hilly, the 30 works better.

That's odd because I am using them in the mountains of East Ky. We also have HUGE trees and our mountains range from 1000 Ft elevation to 3200ft elevation so we have HUGE mountains. I have been to Texas its flat as a pancake or a least compared to here anyway. That makes no sense to me that I can get 2.5 miles here on my 50's and you can only get 5-600 yards in flat country. My dc 30's only get around a mile before they start having issues with dropping. That's odd....Have you got your 320 set to run off the GLONASS satellites? If not that maybe the reason the 50's are not getting more yardage.

How do you get the 320's to run off Glonass satellites?

Power 320 on, press menu, menu, go to setup press enter, system press enter, first 1 will be GPS press enter, change from normal to WAAS/EGNOS press enter and your done.
