I have seen some older posts about these water jet kennel silencers but doesn't seem to be any talk about them in the last couple years. Anybody got one? I am in the process of fixing a new kennel and would really like to put one in but would sure like to hear if any has experienced them.

I am familiar with electric selenoid valves for hydraulics but not sure what kind of device would be needed to trigger the valve from the sound of a bark.

Just thinking and hopefully someone with more electric / technology based know how can answer but would the electronic signal that comes from one of the kennel silencers that emit an ultrasonic sound be the same type of electric signal needed to trigger a valve???

Several years ago I did a similar set up to what you are describing. I ended up doing it the simple way and it worked fine. By simple I mean all I did was set up a 110 volt {house current} solenoid water valve like the ones found in a clothes washing machine. It was "triggered" by me. I had a switch on the line so that when the dog/dogs barked I flipped the switch and the appropriate dog got sprayed.
The problem with the sound triggered system is that it is not discriminatory enough using sound alone. Especially if you are trying to do several dogs independently. If a loud truck goes by the dog gets sprayed...if a fire engine blast it's siren or any other loud noise the dog gets sprayed. This is why bark collars go off of the vibration of the dogs throat. The dog in kennel run #1 barking could otherwise shock the dogs in #'s 2, 3, and 4.
