From what I have been told, a 32 gb card is the biggest that the Alpha and/or 320 can handle. Most Garmin techs will recommend no bigger than the 8 gb or 16 gb as the more info you put on the system, the slower it operates (much like a computer)
I was also told that the 320 and alpha can only hold a little over 200 files. Each section/area you choose to download creates One file, Thus you can only select approximately 200 to 225 areas to put on your system. Now when I downloaded mine, I found that the system worked much better if you kept your file sizes to very near 200gb to 225gb per file. If you make your individual; files much larger than that, say 285gb to 350gb, it will lock your 320 or alpha up, and it will shut down/off, as it is unable to read a file that size even though your computer will allow you to capture a file that size.
So I would recommend you go with a 16gb card, keep your file size 200 to 225 GB and download as much as you can on that card. When capturing an area to download your computer will initially tell you the (approximate) number of GB's you are capturing, then after it completes reviewing the area you are wanting to download it will then give you the ACTUAL GB size of the down load. The actual size of the down load is the one that you must make certain does NOT exceed the 200 to 225 GB size.
This may not be exact but I worked for 3 weeks tweaking mine so that it would not lock up when I tried to turn it on.
Good Luck!!
