The compass is off like the last four or five times that i have used my 320 recently. I calibrate it each time and its fine for that night. Then the next night its off again. I used to only have to calibrate it like every few months.
Has anyone else had this problem.

I use to think mine wasn't working correctly because it wouldn't show the direction that I was pointing the hand held. I figured out that if I panned over on the map that I had to get out of the map and then go back into the map to get it to flip around when I changed the direction the hand held was pointing. I spent a lot of time recalibrating my compass thinking it was off when it wasn't. Hope this helps.

i have to recalibrate mine every time i change the batteries,sometimes every night,sometimes twice a night.lol I think that is just how they are because i know of others just like it

im pretty sure i read in the handbook your suppose to recalibrate the compass before each use?

Just seems like ya get a good one or you dont, i have a 220 that is 4 yrs. old and have never had to recalibrate the compass, always is right on. I got turned around once and recalibrated it because i didnt trust it, but it was me that was wrong. But i have buddies that are constantly spinnin around in circles to recalibrate theirs.
I always change batteries before they get real low, dont know if that makes a difference or not.

Heres one thing I have been doing lately that seems help my 320.I turn the handheld and collar on and place them on the dog box to sync up.It seems when I let it sync up outside it works better.If you already do that it may need a update.

Its been updated recently and I've been using rechargeable batteries taking them out every night to recharge them for a long time. I have the 320 set for rechargeable batteries. It just started doing this recently.

I just updated my 320 I checked to see if it was set for rechargeable batteries and it is Then I went out in a big field away from power lines trees buildings hunting truck and calibrated the compass twice I will see how it does tonite when I go out on a hunt

Garmin states in the manual that If the unit is not used for a while OR the unit is moved 20 miles. It has to be recalibrated before using.

Well I've had it for two years and going a lot more than that without any problems. I use it at least once week.

Just bought the new 320 with the DC50 collars, mine does the same thing, sometimes 2 or 3 times a night. Other nights works like a charm. Going to ask the Garmin Rep next time at a hunt they attend.
