Billy, good to hear from you. Ann was a nice one, for sure. You should have sold her to us when we first wanted to buy her. She really lost her mouth in later years, to the point of making it rough to put her in anymore hunts to chase a Grand title. Otherwise, she was Grand material no doubt. Quick track dog. Wish we had another one like her.

We ended up selling her to a young kid that had just gotten the itch for huntin' dogs. He had pleasure hunted with her a good bit one kill season and really liked her. Perfect dog for him too. That young kid, Eddie Gottfried of Upper Sandusky, OH, went on to do a lot of winning in PKC with some very nice Walker hounds. Don't see his name much in the past couple years so not sure what he's up to these days.

We still hunt the same line of dogs for the most part. Paul hunts way more than I do. Just don't get the time to hunt like I used to. Wish I did.

Good luck with your latest reds!

Unfortunately, I won't be at the St Jude hunt next month. We've got the Beagle Nationals (Autumn Oaks for Beagles)on the same weekend.

I'll tell Paul to call you. He doesn't post on here but does look around. Actually, he called me this morning on the way in and told me to check out your thread. So, pretty sure he'll see this before I talk to him again. He's snowed in today so probably surfing already.

Wow! That's right, you were on that cast. I was actually hunting a Walker dog that night. Took me 10 years to convince "ole Fireball" that we weren't fooled by that one track 'Ole John ran. lol.

That was funny how that all happened. We're all trying to politely convince the legend that his dog is on a fast one when Big John rolled up on that snag. And in the midst of the debate Johnny Cash jumped three feet in the air and put him on the card to end ALL discussion! lol. Funnier yet, were the game tracks in the snow that we followed ALL THE WAY TO THE TREE. Shaking our heads but a couple young squirts too awestruck of a legend to make any further deal of it. I'll never forget it.

Nevertheless, one of the best I owned was a direct son of that high-powered tracking machine!

And the Nugent van........ oh my, good times.
