Ever hunt with a guy like this????

Went hunting one night with a guy that had just paid a lot of money for a grand night walker female. I was hunting a smoky river female. My dog got lucky and struck first and treed first. Nothing was ever said until his dog struck and treed, and then it was, "She's got it now." He never acknowledged my dog, which was fine with me. It wasn't worth arguing about, so I let him enjoy the moment.

The point I'm making is this: It seems to be difficult for some to give credit where credit is due. The only dog that ever does anything........... belongs to them.

Just keep hunting with the guy and go to bragging on his power just like he does. I don't let it bother me if I want to hunt with the guy. Unless he's really simple he will quit his competition pleasure hunts.

Ive hunted with guys like this. I think its funny. His 2 powerhouse dogs treed quick. He said 'load the gun,its over'. My little female took a track from the tree and he asked me if I thought she was backtracking. She doesn't. She trees up on the hill and his dogs pull and tree about 4-5 minutes later with her. He said hes got him now. Hell my female was treed for 5 minutes. I liked when he said "load the gun,its over". The look on his face when they left the tree. Im glad nobody had a light on cause I had a big smile on my face.

Sounds like someone who has not hunted long enough to have enjoyed their fair share of the many servings of humble pie that come with that time. Pleasure hunting & the internet seem to yield the highest percentage genuine champions .

I'm just happy when ole blue even trees, let alone actually has something in the tree. If it is actually a coon in the tree then it's icing on the cake!

When I was younger I hunted with someone just like that on a regular basis.....we have not hunted with him for years and that is partly why.

Years ago I drew 3 walkers on a local hunt cast with my old slow bluedog. First 2 drops I had first and first on two coon. Then a couple of the walker handlers accused me of hunting buckets and were being poor sportsman. There was no way in their minds that a bluedog could beat their walkers.

I agree a whole lot with you Wayne. We , Lee and Myself, hunt alone. Sometimes it's because we are trying to do some correcting but there are some that I just don't hunt with anymore for simular reason's.

Just tell them you're not interested in a pup from it, that generally quiets that stuff pretty quickly.

Had to do that once;Guy was blue dog deaf, never heard anything but his, and god forbid your dog be there first, because he'd argue with the tree standing there that his dog was first and your's just me tooed. lol

If you don't take them too serious there kinda comical. The guy I hunted with like that I just started acting like him when I hunted with him. It was kinda fun to give him a piece of his own medicine.

Yeah I use to hunt with one

Every time a dog struck it was his, and when he knew it was mine first thing he would say was I think we got a possum, until his joined the race. Lol I just laugh it off not worth argument sake.

People like that is the main reason I won't hunt Walker days anymore. We went to 6 trees and my dog had 5 first trees and the 3 walker men said that the Blue dog is just a me-to dog. Get to the last tree and mine was split from the other 3 and had a coon. They look at me and said their isn't no way that a Blue dog is going to win this cast and voted to circle it and plussed their slick tree so a Walker would win. Tell you my blood pressure went through the roof and calmed down because it wasn't worth it.

I can understand you not wanting to, but those guys need to be exposed and banned from UKC.
