Central Texas

Does anybody know anything about squirrel hunting in. Central Tx with a dog I would like to start but I don't know how it can be done here. These squirrels here will not stay put they just run from tree to tree. I have recently got a nice young dog that is crazy about squirrels. She will tree hard where she sees the squirrel go up but the squirrel just keeps moving and she just stays put. She is a cross of Treeing Fiest and Mountain Cur. She is a very hard tree dog. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

NICK YOUR DOG IS GOING TO HAVE TO LEARN TO TIMBER OR YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FIND A DOG THAT WILL . sorry for the caps dang cap lock lol . I am working some young pups now and they are treeing good I have an idea of using a couple of pullys run between two trees to run a squirrel skin back and forth and watching to see if they get the idea about watching the tree for a timbering squirrel instead of waiting till next season to find out which ones will timber . in theory it should work and maybe teach a dog to timber . the leaves are falling good here in northeast texas and i'll keep you posted on the results or you might try it your self with your dog . good luck and how old is your dog ?
