DC50 question

Does the DC 50 truly have noticeably better range than the 40 ? My only true complaint with the systems Garmin puts out is the range...........and they dont seem too concerned with it.

You're right, they probably aren't too concerned with more range because they know that the overwhelming majority of their customers don't need more range. Bear and cat hunters probably don't make up 5% of the customers and most coon hunters aren't letting their dogs out range a Garmin.

.

I have read on here some don't get better range. That is not what I find to be accurate down here in FL. Deer hunters who run hounds are loving them for the distance they get.

Only one thing is better

They do hold a charge longer. Better Range?.. Seems like worse on most nights

Garmin says that they are pushing maximum power that FCC allows them to in the range they using.

Mine works better then the 40 in my area. Had mine for two months and it consistently out perforns my friends 40 collars. Yardage is slightly better and it doesn't lose signal as often.

I have seen better range out of my 50 but I have only had it a week. They don't lose contact as much because the GPS is on the top of the collar so its alway on the up side. I don't like the anntenna its way to long and gets tangled up. I can see braking them offten, it took a yr before I broke a 40 and never broke a 30.
