Indiana Mule Hunting

A friend and myself were planning on going to Indiana and Hunting Clark State Forest or Harrison-Crawford State forest on mules. Anyone in these area know a good place to stay where the mules wouldnt be an issue? Or any other public ground in Indiana that would be good to hunt on mules.
THANKS

Harrison-Crawford and and Clark both have state owned horsecamps. These are very nice campgrounds and they were empty every time I was there but I was always there midweek. I have done 3 day camping trips to Clark State Forest at Henryville with mules twice. Fantastic trail riding but no way I would ever turn a dog loose in that country! But that's just me, I sure you could tree coons there. But it is rugged, much of it straight up and down. There are good websites that can give you more info.

The clark forest is nice for riding mules, but not for hunting off of. Basically what the CO told us was that you can not take the mules off the trails. If you tree any place other than along a trail you have to leave the mules and hike into them.

Thanks for the replies. Hoosier National Forest sounds like it may be a better option. We hunt on private ground in Indy every year but never took our mules. All the private ground we hunt are patch woods. Looking to get in some big country.

Chip, I will try to give you a call later today. Thanks
