8 Month Old Gets 1st

Our pup turned 8 months old Saturday and won a first Saturday night ! Redneck Road Warrior scored 625+ not bad for a baby ...split treeing on coons & out running the other dogs on coons . 0 minus & 350 circle .

Thanks. Right now he's improving every night ...he's a long way from a finished coondog that comes with time & age. He's got some big shoes to fill his with his momma & daddy.
I made this cross again the little ones are only 9 wks old out of the this cross I have kept a female for myself.

Warrior up-date

Warrior is one sick puppy !
He is the best pup I've ever raised & for any of you that know me know I train pups & have had & trained some good ones over the years some mine some of others...
Took him hunting by himself Fri night just one dump I've been a little under the weather but needed to get him some one on one time in the woods. Treed a den but in this spot on the farm I was hunting on was a dead cow the farmer had put down.(didn't know it was there when I turned loose but wouldn't have thought much about it if I had). Warrior was perfectly fine his 8 mo energetic self. Was Sat morning fine-evening I didn't think he acted right so I brought him in the house , his heads down tail not wagging won't even eat a hot dog. Sunday worse diarrhea (bloody) vommitting even after a drink of water ,no fever. Start pedialite & Kaopectate ...penicillin & doxycycline. At the vet Monday no parasites ,no parvo (had 5 shots) dehydrated bad & body temp dropped to 97 not good !...he has a bacterial infection much like food poisoning is what they think. IV bags of fluid shots of antibiotics & a steriod to help because he's so toxic. Monday night little better wanted to eat a little (macaronni tiny bit of chicken) Tuesday morning thought maybe gonna be ok ...Tuesday afternoon won't drink won't eat ...Tues late evening boiled some chicken peeled of bone ate some with a little broth still not drinking I'm getting some down him with big syring . Still peeing no more diarrhea (so far) temp good. I gave him some Nuti-Cal & a shot of B-12 in addition to vet meds. If he's not drinking in the morning were going back for more IV fluids. He is currently made camp on the new couch (on old blanket of course) seems to enjoy it there watching TV ,only has had one accident in the house (pee thank God) if he lives & never makes a great coondog may make one heck of a house dog lol. Keep your fingers crossed that he gets over this , I'm about sick myself it's always the good ones !

Isn't judge freed still alive and in nc??? Pretty sure they have an ad on him on here. Whats mafia stud fee like his pedigree and hearing good things on his pups

Not sure what you mean asked what his stud fee was and was saying I believe judge deed is alive don't see where it states that maybe I'm missing it.

Last I knew yes Judge Dredd was alive & well...Mafia is out of Electric Shock a brother to Dredd . Shock past on a few years back .

Ones like him don't come around everyday...I have raised several really nice pups over the years out of Mafia that would tree there own coon , but this one just has that little something special & a natural ability I haven't seen since I raised and trained his daddy.
It's never the pot lickers you can't hardly give away that something like this happens to. I had to take him back to the vet yesterday . They've got him back on an IV running fluids & antibiotics through it for the night . He won't drink on his own & threw up what little he did eat & what fluids I got squirted down him. He was better than Monday though but far from being out of the woods.
Thanks for the kind words everybody...I'll keep you all posted on his progress.

Somebody had something posted earlier about a over production of bacteria or something like that that cause the same symptoms I believe not sure but may he worth looking into if you already havent. Just thought I'd mention it good luck.

That's kinda what were thinking ...they're was a dead cow in last spot he was hunted. Vet said dogs can get bacterial infections just like people almost like a food poisoning. I talked to his vet a few minutes ago...Warrior was up eating & drinking they are going to run more antibiotic & fluid through him. If he continues to hold down his food I'll get to pick him up this afternoon before close.
When he gets better I've got some major weight to put back on him , he hasn't really eaten good since last Friday.

Warrior is getting back to his 8 mo old full of energy self...I've had some boys from TX trying to buy him for a while & sold him received the check today . Will be meeting up with his new owner this weekend. If I didn't have a younger one from this same cross Warrior would have not been for sale & I'm probably an idiot - but ones like this don't come free lol.
Congratulations to Mr. Jeff Hughes of Texas & good luck with him ! The $kc boys better be ready this young pup will be a winner !

full littermate brother...

Just bought a full littermate brother to Warrior he has only been hunted 5 or 6 times , gonna give it a roll . Hoping since all his littermates are doing really well that I can get him going .
I sold my 3 legged female from the Mafia/Kate cross (George Majors good old female $kc winner) to little Tate O'Brien . His dog fell off a cliff over the weekend & died . When a little boy shows up crying cause his dog died looking for a Coondog there's not much you can do but say there she is . Tate is one heck of a little coonhunter & has won more money than half the men out there ever will - watch for Tate and Mable on the other kc state standings & big hunts ! My buddy & I went and tried 4 different dogs for him last week & took Mable along as a measuring stick - the guy he was trying dogs off of asked if we could chop off other leg he was trying to sell the man a dog . lol She's something to watch go you wouldn't believe it till you've seen it . Good luck Tate !
So I know have the littermate to Warrior , a younger male same cross , another male Mafia / Maxine cross (Greg Minkler's good female) & another one - a little female Bone / Sally (Jason O'Brien's good female) surely something will turn out . The last 3 are to young to hunt can't wait till spring !

i would have had internet years ago. same scenario with the dead cow. mine was a 9 year old black and tan that i raised from a pup. he was an awesome coondog that could tree any kind of coon there was. had one litter out of him finally and then he died from whatever, vet never did find what it was, but the symptoms and scenario are identical to yours. sad thing is the pup i kept from the cross was very much like your pup but i hadnt put him in a hunt. he was kickin butt on everything i hunted him with, awesome lay up dog, and very accurate. got killed on the road at 15 months old gettin him ready for his first hunt. good luck with your new projects.

Dan sorry about your dogs the good ones we never forget . GRCH GRNITECH RAT'S HI COUNTRY ANN ...a dual grand ,all grand female the mother of my pups passed away yesterday . So I'm really hoping one of these I've got turns out . Time will tell .
