Garmin ?????

My uncle called and said he has charged his DC30 collar for about 10 hours and the blue light will not go off. If someone could help with this it would be appreciated. Thanks

Try disconnecting the battery

This has been recommended if I remember, and it worked for me when the blue light stays on past the 4-5 hrs for a full charge time.

Make sure to have the right 'small' size phillips screw drivers and be careful not to strip the screw heads out...

Remove the bottom metal plate, then remove the bottom of the reciever, 4 tiny black screws in each corner. I think you can leave the antennas connected...less chance of messing up that scew or plug on those if your not careful.

That gets you to the battery and its connected with 2 plug together type plugs, one larger one smaller,...I unpluged the larger one, easier to get to and work on, leave it disconnected for a few minutes and then put it back together, as this disconnect resets something and it should charge up correctly and light go off when fully charged.

There isn't alot of slack in the wires to get that plug apart, and its tedious and awkward with clumbsy hands like mine, but take your time and it will come apart...same with reconnecting it...

Again be careful NOT to strip out the screw heads...otherwise your screwed...so to speak...

Hope this helps.

.

First thing I would do is turn on the collar and turn on your astro and then go to the information page for that collar. If you only have a couple bars of charge that indicates your battery is not charging and you probably need a new one.
There is one exception to that and Telstar explained it well in his post.
Actually you can leave the plate attached to the collar and just take the four small corner screws out. I use a small screwdriver to lift each end of the wiring harness because like Telstar said there isn't much working room.
