I would just hunt him 1 or 2 a week, in your best spots. Be patient, If he is barking at a cage coon. I wouldn't show him any more. Just keep him in the woods, as he matures he will track more and tree. Different dogs will start treeing at different ages. I know wipe out dogs have a tendency to start treeing lately. Because he has wipe out in him, I wouldn't worry if he doesn't start treeing anytime soon.
I would keep him in the woods just enough to keep him familiar with the woods, but also not so much that you burn him out at an early age.
