Took my wife and her friend coon hunting for the 1st time Friday night and we had a good one!!! Dogs struck 50 yds from truck and run one hot up a tree less than 300 yds away. The younger female walker of my friends and my cousins young bluetick really put on a show. they treed that coon like they had done it a million times. Any way it was a 1st for me also cause once we found the coon I used a rabbit squaller and got him moving. Well before I knew it he was coming down. Got about 6ft above the dogs and Bailed out!! I have been hunting since I was a kid and have never seen this happen!!! I told my wife that this kind of night is rare!!! I got some good pics and just wanted to share it with yall! Had them to twalk down some but never jump out. Sounds like a great time.

Wow not to run over your post but went out tonight could not find the coon through the leaves. Finally leaves started moving and the sucker ran down. Got about 5 foot from the ground and jumped. Must be something in the air right now.

We always shoot the coon in the feet and squall and that will get them to come down the tree and jump out

Had a lot of people telling me around here that when they shine tree coons are moving around a lot without squalling or anything. We went last night and had a not so awesome night. Treed 2 trees and never seen coon. Not saying he wasn't there that's just why its called hunting. Have fun Be Safe!!

Treed a big one last night in a giant poplur tree!! He wasn't 20 ft up it though?? Man we have hunted this spot a while and never had the luck like we been having this past week! I guess it must be some acorns around this place or something cause we are having a poor acorn year in central Va. We turned loose at 8:30 Got a video of dogs at tree at 8:44! Can't beat that! Good luck yall and safe huntn!!
