I agree. I just sold a dog and the buyer booked a dog hauler to come get him. I spoke with the dog hauler and we made arrangements for him to pick up the early part of the next week (nearly 1 week ahead of time). He didn't show, no call... no text. A day or so goes by and he tells me it will be the weekend before he gets there. Weekend comes, no call... no text. Sunday morning he texts me and says it will be Tues evening or Wed morning. Tuesday & Wednesday come and go, no call.... no text. I woke up today and called another hauler who was way more accomodating. The buyer notified the original hauler and informed him we made other plans. He says he has a guy within 1 hour of my house, again never called me or text me to give me a time when he'd show. By now he has no-showed at least 3 times without contacting us. We said no thanks. 6-7 hours after I placed a call to the 2nd dog hauler my dog was picked up and on the road. That first dog hauler ain't going to be in business long if he can't keep his word.
In this game, coonhunters come from all over and all walks of life. From millionaires to folks so poor they can't put clothes on their kids, but it don't matter. The people in this game are judged by their word. A man's word will go further than any man's checkbook.
