Redbone Fall Round-Up

I have given it some thought and I would think this would help resolve some of the issues that some redbone people are having. My suggestion is we have a fall Redbone Roundup hunt. Right now Redbone fanciers have Southern Redbone Days in Feb (National), American Redbone Days in June and National Redbone Days in July. (Oh ya and US days in Aug)

Personally there is no way that I would consider attending a Redbone hunt in Feb and April. So my suggestion as a representative of the American Redbone Association that we get a fall date. Around October 10, 11 and 12. These date right now should be available.

This would give Redbone Fanciers some really good choices and opportunity to go to a hunt in the Spring, Fall and 2 or 3 in the summer.

If there is enough positive response to this, I suggest that that this is brought to the American Redbone Association Board and a proposal is made at the next meeting.

Thanks for reading, John Dell

If you want to change something than change National or U.S. Redbone Days.Leave American alone, there is know issue with it so don't create one!I am a director for the American Assoc. and I would never be in favor of this. You wanna move the annual hunt held in June and keep the ones held in
July and August that makes know sense. There is nothing wrong with change, but only if it's for the better.

This is only a suggestion

No one is trying to make any trouble, this is all about promoting the redbone breed and keeping integrity to the sport and the breed. I have always been a promoter of both American and National, been part of them both since the late 80`s. Not sure if another date could be given on top of the other dates. Maybe Allen from UKC could tell us if there would be the possibility.

Another option would be to start another Redbone Association!

Thanks John

Well

If no one thinks this may be a good idea, I would think that we need to move on regarding changing any dates.

November

Each year we have a Redbone Zone hunt the first part of November at Marshall IL. The weather is good and coon are plentiful. Come join us. Curious though, what do you have against an April hunt? Around here the hunting is great then.

I have

No problem with a Redbone hunt anytime of the year!! I think that having Southern Days in Feb and National Days in April is a little to close together. I think it would be nice to hunt in the fall. Thanks John

i think

july 4 is the worst wknd to have any hunt. theres always family stuff goin on and most yrs its really too hot to hunt dogs that hard. i think april would be great. even bein a family event as some said at the meeting, well thats a terrible excuse. how many kids participated? i think thered be more kids involved if it wasnt hot n not on that wknd. just my opinion though.

Hunting in the Fall is great. But everyone is out pleasure hunting in the Fall and getting pups going. We need to have an "off season" to unwind and regroup.

My self and my opinion I like it in july yes its hot and I think if you condition your dogs along with yourself its not that bad make aure both has plenty of water. This is the only time I have for a major hunt and looks like next year may be my last my factory closes over the 4th of July week for vacation yes I enjoy it more when its cooler but not worth loosing a job over
