On papers, what does Nitech and grnitech mean? I see it on a lot of people's siggys so I know it's something I'm missing. I'm extremely new to everything coonhunting.

Nitech-means they are. Nite champion having received a certain number of wins using a point system the nite champion title is awarded to the dog.
Grnd nite ch- means they have received a nite champion title plus five 1st place wins as a nite champion. Then the hound is dubbed grand nite champion which is a very honorable title and hard to achieve honestly. It takes many hours and lots of money to make a dog a grand nite champion.

Thank you. Nitech is all over my black and tan's papers and I thought it was a bloodline lol. Do you renew the papers approximately once a year if you do a lot of big hunts and win? What about the degrees on the registration papers? I'll be glad when I understand everything.

You do not have to renew the papers every year unless you just want to... UKC sends a certificate and new easy entry card everytime yor dog earns a new degree so I would just keep up with those certificates to have proof of the achievements. But regardless UKC will have that info. I would make sure to keep up with the win slips though. There's always a small chance that paperwork gets messed up or not sent in and that way you can have proof for UKC that you dog did indeed get those particular points. I never had to do that bc the clubs that have hosted have always done a real good job but like I said you never know. Good luck!
