Is there a shot or pill that can bring a female in heat?

I have heard about this but I do not know what it is called? My friend has a female that we would like to get pups from but she is way past due to come in. Does it actually work? Any information would be appreciated.

There are a couple that will do it pills and pg600 but my opinion is I would not use it unless the females older and it's your last effort of getting pups off a worthy female

This female just turned eight. She is a good coonhound and reproducer but it has been well over a year since her last heat cycle. If I knew for sure that it would work it would be worth it.

I had a similar experience, 5 year old female had not cycled in 16 months.
I was told the pg600 would work, but I should try adding a vitamin supplement that includes potassium first. I took that advice and started giving my female Doc Roy's Daily Care Canine Vitamin and Mineral Tablets. I got them from revival animal health, the same place you can get pg600.
It took almost 3 months but just using the vitamins worked, she came into heat. Based on weight she takes 2 vitamins a day, I just stick them in her food bowl with the other food. I imagine Canine Vitamins from most pet supply companies would be similar to the brand I am recommending.
If you are in a hurry pg600 is the choice, but if you are looking to naturally bring her in I'd try a vitamin supplement.
On a side note there are other benefits; she has more energy and her coat is the best it has been in years.

I have commented on this in the past. Do not use these products. They may bring a bitch in season but cause reabsorbtions, abortions and misses.

Also try having her thyroid checked. If she is hypothyroid this might be why she isn't coming in too.
